- MAKULEKE
If magic does exist, it undoubtably lives in the surreal Fever Tree Forest found along the length of the ancient "great grey-green, greasy Limpopo River" in the Makuleke Concession. Located in the far north of Kruger National Park, in the heart of the Greater Limpopo Transfrontier conservation area, lies 26000ha of pure wilderness. Unfenced and untamed, the area, also known as the Pafuri Triangle is steeped in mesmerising cultural history, from trade routes of the ancient African trading kingdom, Thulamela, the ancestral Makuleke people and an array of old ivory hunters, poachers and adventurers. Add to that a biodiversity of mind-blowing proportions, fascinating geology, stunning landscapes and wildlife, Makuleke is truly a piece of wild heaven.
- MARATABA
A fascinatingly mystical piece of bushveld set at the foot of the towering Waterberg mountains is the Marataba Concession. Open onto the astonishingly stunning Marakele National Park, it provides a truly authentically African atmosphere. Open plains, dense thorn veld, deep gorges and a spectacular array of fauna and flora make the 23000ha a unique, wild and beautiful wilderness area. In a malaria free zone and home to the Big5, Marataba is a ‘must-explore’ destination.
- MADIKWE
Nestled nicely in an ecotone between two different habitat types, the South African thornveld and
the sandveld stretching north into Botswana, lies a one of a kind Provincial Game Reserve. Madikwe is a 75000ha, malaria free, wildlife rich reserve with a history built on sustainable tourism and land utilisation. Good birding, the famous Big 5, plus cheetah, wild dogs and both brown and spotted hyena, Madikwe often provides the chance of a truly special safari experience.
